Grandmaman’s Meatloaf
2 pounds of Lean Ground Beef
1 pound of Ground Pork
1 cup of Dry Bread Crumbs
2 Eggs, beaten
⅓ cup of Yellow Onion, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon of Dry Mustard
⅛ teaspoon of Celery Salt (or fresh celery leaves)
⅛ teaspoon of Paprika
2 tablespoons of Fresh Parsley, chopped
Salt & Pepper
- Combine ground meat in a bowl, mix in bread crumbs.
- Beat eggs well; add onion and seasonings. Blend in with meat mixture.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pack mixture firmly into oiled loaf pan lined with wax paper to form shape. Unmould on to parchment-lined cooking sheet and bake 1.5 hours.
- Once cooked, let stand for 10 minutes to absorb juices before slicing.
A third-generation recipe, you won't find a better meatloaf recipe out there. It's a loaf of meat – what more could you want??
